Electrical Inspection in Finland

Inspection and test-witnessing support for motors, generators and industrial electrical equipment at Finnish manufacturers.

Electrical equipment inspection covering identification, assembly, test procedures, measurements, records and technical observations.

Electrical inspection scope

Inspection can combine physical checks, document review and witnessing of the tests defined for the equipment.

  • Equipment identification, nameplate information and drawing references
  • Terminal boxes, connections, accessories and visible assembly condition
  • Insulation, winding or other electrical measurements included in the agreed procedure
  • Running, functional, vibration, noise or temperature-related observations when specified
  • Test records and calibration information relevant to witnessed measurements

Motors and generators

Large electrical machines often require coordination between mechanical condition, electrical measurements and operating observations during FAT.

  • Winding resistance and insulation-related measurements when specified
  • No-load or other running tests included in the procedure
  • Rotation direction, vibration, noise, bearing and cooling observations
  • Terminal arrangement, auxiliary equipment and visible completion checks

Reporting

The report records the tests attended, measurements available during witnessing, visible observations and open points requiring project follow-up.

  • Equipment and test identification
  • Referenced procedure and documents
  • Observed results and relevant photographs
  • Open technical observations or retest information when applicable
FIELD INSIGHT

What matters during the inspection

Electrical inspection is strongest when the observed setup, instrument identification, calibration status, recorded values and equipment condition are reviewed together rather than treating the test sheet as a standalone result.

TECHNICAL BASIS

Documents and standards

For Electrical Equipment Inspection, the technical basis comes from the purchase order, project specification, approved supplier documents and equipment requirements. IEC, EN, ISO, ASME, API or other references are used only when they are specified for the actual equipment or project.

  • Approved drawings and equipment data sheet
  • ITP / QAP and inspection requirements
  • Applicable test or inspection procedure
  • Relevant calibration and supplier records
  • Open-item, punch or follow-up records when applicable

Send the key details for a faster review

Manufacturer location, equipment, required date and a short description are enough to start. Project documents can be exchanged after the initial contact through the agreed project channel.

BEFORE THE VISIT

Information that helps us prepare faster

  • Manufacturer or supplier name and inspection location
  • Equipment or package description and project / purchase reference
  • Requested inspection date and expected visit duration
  • Relevant ITP, drawings, specifications and test procedure
REPORTING

Typical inspection output

  • Visit summary and equipment identification
  • Referenced documents and attended inspection or test points
  • Measurements, observations and available test results
  • Photos and clear open-item follow-up information when applicable

Practical questions

Can Inspectfin witness motor FATs in Finland?

Yes. Motor and generator test witnessing can be arranged when the test scope, manufacturer location, equipment details and requested date are provided.

Can mechanical observations be recorded during an electrical FAT?

Yes. Visible mechanical condition, vibration, bearing-related observations, cooling and assembly details can be recorded when they are relevant to the agreed test scope.

What test documents are useful before attendance?

The FAT procedure, motor or generator data sheet, applicable drawings, project requirements and planned test schedule are useful starting documents.
